Cooking Demo at the Mac

Saturday, November 26th, 2005

Thank you Joe for putting together this event!
The creativity and hard work of our members is what makes our club activities so diverse and enjoyable.

I enjoyed the demonstration; Patrick, the chef, was both entertaining and informative. I know that the food we ate was somehow being assembled or staged in the room next door so that it could be brought in at the correct time. This showed me that the pre-preparation tricks Patrick shared with us really do work.

To me the selection of wines was good for the meal and the idea of tasting all three with each dish was interesting. I thought the overall volume of wine served was appropriate what do you think? How many of you think we should have had an additional wine to share at the beginning while we mingled before sitting down for the demonstration? Or should we have had the white wine for that?

Of the three wines the Moculta Shiraz was my favorite.

characteristics. The wine is delightful now but will reward cellaring for up to a decade.

Tait “The Ball Buster” Shiraz

Sunday, November 20th, 2005

2003 Tait “The Ball Buster” Shiraz
Retail Price: $29.99
Blend of 60% Shiraz, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon & 20% Merlot from Barossa Valley fruit. Winemaker Bruno Tait strives to make big, thick, juicy and extracted reds. Initially he was going to name the wine after his wife, “Michelle’s Block” but thought it would evoke an image of a wine that is soft and elegant. So he named it The Ball Buster instead! Not surprisingly, this wine is purchased by many of our lady customers looking for that very special gift.
