Monday June 2nd. 2008,
7:00 PM
At de Vine Wines and Spirits, 10111 – 104 Street

Ed Fong of de Vine Wines will be hosting our next event in his fun and funky wine store downtown. This would be a great opportunity for members to share an inexpensive and informal event with their friends who may be considering joining the Australian Wine Club.

Ed Fong, a purveyor of good times and fine wines has joined forces with Tzin Wine & Tapas Bar. Together they have put together an informal evening of libations, comestibles and illumination. Okay, in plain English that works out to be good wine paired with informal food served up with an educational component. Ed’s knowledge of wine is vast and entertaining. Tzin Wine & Tapas Bar has earned a reputation with food critics and patrons alike for their very inventive morsels of food combinations served with appropriate wines. This evening promises to dance on your tongue like a festival of fun and massage your mind like a drinkable dissertation. Okay, a bit of an exaggeration but it sounded good. Come on out for the fun and bring a friend, or two, or three.

Five Tapas matched with Five Wines. Barossa – Clare Valley Dry Rose, Heartland Viognier Riesling, Best Western Sparkling Shiraz, Jesters Shiraz, Cape Barren Shiraz Grenache.

$35 each for members and first guest, $45 for non-members and additional guests

SEEKING A HEAVENLY EXPERIENCE ON A MONDAY??

MEMBERS THIS IS YOUR NEXT EVENT!

St. Hallett and Upper Crust Cafe

St Hallett

10909 86 Ave. Edmonton
Monday April 14th 7:00 p.m.
$45.00 each for members
$55.00 each non-members

When a SAINT meets the UPPER CRUST you might think it is an event tailored to the rich and famous. OZ Wine Club knows that UPPER CRUST isn’t about snobbery. It is about yeast and the bread of life!

St. Hallett understands that drinking wine should not be just an experience it should be an almost religious experience. Fine food and good wine can be a divine experience. Have you ever experienced angels dancing on your tongue? This might be your big chance. The Upper Crust Café, St. Hallett Wine and an “Irene Labonte Event”, the perfect trilogy.

We are showcasing wines from St. Hallett a founding winery of the Barossa Valley. St Hallett is dedicated to translating the tapestry of soils and meso-climates of the Barossa in each of its wines. St Hallett is renowned for crafting full-flavored, textured wines entirely from Barossa Valley fruit and is credited with producing benchmark wines of the region such as the iconic St Hallett Old Block Shiraz, made from vines aged up to 100 years old.

Irene LaBonte has organized events in the past and all were well received and a huge success. Irene has outdone herself, reaching for the stars, marrying heavenly wines with celestially foods. Working closely with Julie from Select Wines, Satesh from Crestwood Liquor Store and Sheila from Upper Crust Café they have come up with what promises to be a communion of fabulous fermentation and flavorful food.
