History
The Edmonton area Australian Wine Club began in 2000 with a small group wanting to learn about and to share experiences with Australian wine. That year one event was held at the Derrick Club.
Over the first couple of years a number of different events were tried. The group found that running 5 events per calendar year; one in January two during the months from March to June, one in September and one in November seemed to work. The January event is held each year on or about the 26th to commemorate Australia Day.
In 2002 the club started to build a collection of highly rated Australian wines that are to be aged and later enjoyed at club events. That same year the first Wine Walk About was held. This event has been very popular and is a regular event each September.
In 2006 we had 56 members and we are looking forward to increasing membership for 2007. Come Join us!
